Friends, "The One with the Dozen Lasagnas": You're like the anti-Paolo

My review/recap of the January 12, 1995 episode after I could be on the Olympic "stand there" team.

Another average episode that didn't have any real standout moments until the very end. It did add more and advance the overall story.

Rachel's Italian boyfriend Paolo makes a pass at Phoebe while she is giving him a massage. Phoebe doesn't know whether she should tell Rachel or not, but after some convincing from the guys (mostly Ross), she does which leads to Rachel breaking up with him. Ross attempts to comfort her, but she says that she doesn't want to think about being with another guy.

Two side-plots (one funny and relatively short and the other is more important to the overall show) are also in the episode. The short, funny one is that Chandler and Joey need a new table after their old one fell apart. They discuss whether one person should buy it (in case someone moves out) or if they are ready in their relationship to split it. They eventually decide to split it, but can't decide on a table to get. They give up and just buy a foosball table instead.

The important side-plot is Ross goes over to Carol and Susan's apartment to check on the unborn baby. Carol tells him that the baby is healthy and asks if he wants to know the sex of the baby. He doesn't and throughout the episode, everyone else learns what the sex will be. At the end of the episode Rachel lets it slip that Ross is having a son, saying that she doesn't think his son will turn out like Paolo. Ross is excited, as are the rest of the group.

This episode has Ugly Fat Guy's sixth mention of the show.

Sign of the Times: Paolo has a suitcase without wheels

Average episode that was more for moving along the plot of the overall series. At least, Phoebe had something to do and was actually involved in a storyline.
